Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy (CIT), is a minimally invasive procedure that uses a handheld device containing very fine, high-quality needles to create controlled micro-injures in the superficial layer of the skin for the purpose of rejuvenation. These controlled micro-injuries trigger the skin’s natural repair processes, stimulating collagen, elastin production and other building blocks for healthy skin. It can also be used to increase hair growth on the scalp. Furthermore, microneedling can be used anywhere on the body to improve texture, reduce scarring, and diminish the look of discolouration.

At Skincare Aesthetics, the microneedling treatment utilizes the microneedling device from ProCell Therapies. This device is exceptionally different as it uses a linear stamping method that creates uniformly distributed microinjuries in the skin without causing tearing or dragging, that other devices may cause leading to a more abrasive procedure with longer downtime. Furthermore, at Skincare Aesthetics, AnteAGE’s microneedling serum is used in conjunction with this treatment that contains pro-healing, anti-inflammatory growth factors and cytokines derived from laboratory culture of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells, the specialized cells that science has determined function as “command and control” of healing in all injured tissues. This helps ensure superior results. AnteAGE products contain no cells or cell remnants (they are removed during ultrafiltration, the final step in the laboratory culture process). Red Light Therapy is also included with this treatment.

When scheduling your procedure, it is important to remember that while you may see results after one session, it is generally recommended that microneedling be completed in a series of 2-6 treatments every 4-6 weeks, followed by a maintenance program.

Treatment Time: 60-80 minutes

Downtime: May cause some temporarily tightness, redness and peeling for the first 24-48 hours. Make-up application is restricted for 48 hours.

Treatment Frequency: 4-6 weeks apart. Please note: Depending on skin condition some may require additional treatments. Once goal is achieved maintenance peels are recommended.
